There are two connectivity options: 1) The Origo.ag M1 option, Utilising a Telco IoT network, which includes a SIM data plan for each device: or 2) The Origo.ag DM Option, your own private Origo.ag Digimesh, meshing network. The Origo.ag DM requires an Origo XGW Gateway at a central point with Internet access, for instance, at your farm office. We are also launching a Satellite connectivity option.
All connectivity options can be mixed and matched depending on your requirements.
Origo system work on low voltage, e.g. controlling solenoids and relays. All high-voltage circuits (DC or AC) require a certified electrician.
Identify your objectives
Identify your critical assets, where you frequently visit, e.g. to switch on and off or change the direction of valves manually.
What is to be controlled? For example, pumps, valves, mills, irrigation, fans, temperature and humidity in rooms, desalination plants, and water spray for cooling.
What is driving the current system? Solar or mains powered, diesel, generator electricity, manual
Current system? For example, manual valve, DC switch, AC Switch, and manual start.
Required control or automation? For example, remote switching, switching on schedule (timer), and switching on condition (temperature).
Prioritise requirements for control and automation
Prioritise your objectives; generally, the assets that are crucial for your farming operation, require heavy workloads or are furthest away from central points of operation involve more cost than those in the farm yard.
